  OSV SIP Platform

The Oralnet OSV SIP platform is a complete turnkey solution.  With this, you can be up and running with
a scalable, resilient, and feature-rich multimedia
VoIP platform of your own.

This system offers full resilience and high-availability, with effective load distribution. It can be cut to size for your initial stages and seamlessly added to as and when growth indicates is necessary.

The key elements of this system are:


SIP Proxy (SER/OpenSER)

Based on the Open Source software solution, this is a high-performance, configurable, SIP server.
As part of this solution, it acts as SIP registrar and state-full proxy.

It features an application-server interface, presence support, SMS gateway, SIMPLE2Jabber gateway, and operates out of the database cluster included in this model.  It performs all authentication, and is accessed via Oralnet’s management interface.

These proxies also distribute load when forwarding authenticated to the second main component of this platform, the B2BUA’s

   

Back-to-back User Agent’s (B2BUA’s)

These systems, based on the Open Source Asterisk software, operate as a farm of servers.  Set up in a real-time architecture, operating out of the same central database cluster, these applications proxy RTP for both legs of a call.  These are the units that also make hand over focus to Oralnet’s in-house developed call control modules to provide extended logging, PBX functionality, and handle far-end NAT traversal.

The PBX functionality provided is highly configurable, but initial rollout includes a customised voicemail application as standard.  Contact us for a full suite of PBX applications that Oralnet have available for our OSV solution.


Database Cluster

 Using Linux (in a clustered architecture at request), we implement MySQL to operate as a central information repository for all configurations, dial-plans, and logs.  All other elements of the OSV platform make use of this platform, making it simple to scale.  If any additional devices are required to add capacity to handle further load, an additional server is added in, pointed at the MySQL databases, and is instantly available with little effort.

Using this MySQL cluster also ensures a single point for all back-ups, and offers a simple integration into applications and web-sites.


Oralnet’s call control module

A proprietary system, comprising of FastAGI scripts and independent applications, the call control module is primarily responsible for the following:

    • Billing
    • Call routing (Least cost routing)
    • Rate calculations
    • Maintaining accurate Call Detail Records
    • Providing unified interfaces for both pre-pay and post-pay users.

These applications are called by the B2BUA’s as a session is created, and the applications themselves are executed on a separate server across Oralnet’s core network.  This removes additional load from the B2BUA’s, allowing them to devote their resource to providing the best call quality.

A web-enabled platform, allowing for provisioning and administration of your user-base. This also offers service-based management, tailored to the particular functionality you require.
